I think I'm just being silly, but if not then I need some help: how do I update the game & not lose my progress?

I feel like I've clicked everywhere for the robbery quest (it's not showing up in my quest log though) but I still can't find it, lol. Also, when I sign the agreement in the throne room, nothing happens: I can't do anything else, except repeatedly sign the agreement. If I try going to the inn, the message comes up that the Queen wants to see me immediately. (downloaded the game to my computer rather than playing it on browser, if that matters)

I finished the robbery quest!

I am also having a problem escaping the Stats menu - I am running a 64bit, Windows 10 PC. I've gotten out of the menu before, but now I'm stuck. Every time I load my save file, it brings me back to the stat menu. Hitting ESC only brings up the inventory, quest, etc menu, but does not return me to the game.

I really don't want to lose my progress by starting a new file.

Please advise, thank you. :)
